#rsrh Romney levels up as a Presidential candidate.

Jon Podhoretz put it as “Romney Should Send Obama a Fruit Basket:”

The president’s “you didn’t build that” statement has not only framed the race between Barack Obama and Mitt Romney exactly as Romney needed, it has transformed Romney’s campaign.

…but it’s not so surprising. You’re always most conservative about the things that you know best; and when it comes to “knowing best” God knows that Mitt Romney wins that contest against Barack Obama when it comes to anything involving fiscal/economic policy.

#rsrh …Wait, people actually trusted Barack Obama on medical pot?

Well, that was stupid of them.

Many of California’s most prominent and well-respected medical cannabis dispensaries and related facilities — including Oaksterdam University, Berkeley Patients Group, and Harborside Health Center (HHC) — flourished under the George W. Bush administration. But they’ll be lucky to survive President Barack Obama’s first term.

On Tuesday, federal prosecutors targeted Harborside Health Center in Oakland, as well as its sister facility in San Jose, for closure and civil asset forfeiture. In court papers filed by the US Attorney for the northern district of California, Melinda Haag, the federal government alleges that Harborside is “operating in violation of federal law” by providing cannabis to state-qualified patients.

Guess marijuana really does affect your long-term judgement.  Which might explain President Choom, come to think of it… nah, that’s too harsh.  Hey: just like the Obama administration!

…Too soon?

#rsrh Chinese Commies ain’t cool. Can’t maintain a breathable atmosphere, either.

This link to the Atlantic’s report on Beijing’s insanely, freakishly, and stereotypically Communist horrible air quality is not so much bad as it is leading to a verrrrrry slowly loading website (the animations are kind of poorly designed, I think).  But then, you only need to see this:

See, this is why friends don’t let friends install Marxist regimes in their countries.  Because Marxism is intellectualism for stupid people.  We never got this bad even before we had an EPA*.  But then, there’s that entire ‘respect for property rights’ thing…

#rsrh QotD, I Associate Myself With The Gentleman From Georgia’s Remarks edition.

My RS colleague and friend Erick Erickson, on the latest manufactured outrageous outrage coming out from Team Obama:

Mitt Romney has released his tax records. He has not released enough to satisfy Team Obama or the media. Frankly, I think he should release them going back a ways. But if I were Romney, I would not release them until Barack Obama released his college transcripts. It’s one more thing about Barack Obama we don’t know and frankly, it’d just be fun to watch Obama squirm.

Mind you: I don’t care if the tax records get released. I’m all about the ‘watching Obama squirm.’

…I got nothing, sorry.

Except the standard “Don’t ever f*cking trust a Commie,” of course.

Sorry, but I actually found that copy of Kingdoms of Amalur that started gathering dust once Mass Effect 3 showed up and have been playing that instead of Skyrim*.  Well, at least until the DLC for the latter two start coming out.

Yeah, I know: very glamorous.

*Which I have finally started to pick clean.  Only took me, what? Five, six hundred hours?

Democrats lack moral courage to deal with John Tierney (D, MA-06).

Roll Call probably should have expanded John Tierney’s money/campaign woes into its own post, but the details are still tantalizing: The Massachusetts Democrat has less money in the bank and has raised less money in the last three quarters than has GOP challenger Richard Tisei.  The reason why Tierney is floundering, of course, is because the embattled Congressman has a bit of an in-law problem.  As in, they keep getting convicted of felonies… and they keep insisting that Tierney was involved in said felonies, too. This has had an… effect on the race, in much the same way that ignoring the engine light going off can have an effect on your car’s performance; it’s going to get expensive eventually, but you just don’t know when.

Still, judging how this is going is complicated.  On the one hand, I think that Cook is being too generous to Tierney calling this one Lean Democratic, but then the polling is kind of sparse, and old.  On the other hand, local Democrats are trying to even now recruit an ‘independent’ (the deadline for getting into the Democratic primary has passed). And, on the gripping hand, as Roll Call also noted the DCCC is doubling down: “The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee and House Majority PAC have reserved a combined $5.6 million in ad time in the Boston market. The market includes Tierney’s district but also covers two competitive races in New Hampshire.” Continue reading Democrats lack moral courage to deal with John Tierney (D, MA-06).

#rsrh Darn right #youdidntbuildthat, Obama (#apple)

As the RNC notes:

If you had built it Apple wouldn’t actually “just work.” Which is a point that the folks who wish that Barack Obama had a ‘i’ in his name for them to use should consider: if Steve Jobs had run Apple the way that Barack Obama has been running the government, they all would have switched over to computers that went “Moo” years ago.
