The horror that is 2016 has lightened a touch: Delta Green books!

Huzzah!

And I hear that the 7th Sea books are on the way, which should help with the absolutely disastrous negative karmic environment just a bit, too. Gimme an update on Unknown Armies and I’ll even whistle a bit of a happy tune.  Well, a few bars at least. The full melody would need, I dunno, an In Nomine Kickstarter or something…

Fun day today.

Two concerts – sea shanties and 18th century Baroque – an interconnected museum tour, a carriage ride, and of course rum punches and the like. Nice to have a day that’s not particularly run-around-and-do-this, you know? My wife and I needed the break.

And now I’m going to zonk out. Because, hey, rum punches.

Today will be a day of art and air conditioning.

There are any number of museums here which the wife and I have not seen, largely because we have children and getting kids through boring museums is often a dark art itself.  Also, and perhaps much more importantly: IT IS GORAM HOT HERE.  Worse, the humidity is at the point where air spirits are simply walking around and drenching random people with water in order to make quota. Seriously, it’s gotten to the point where I want to sprinkle salt and maybe some lemon pepper on the air, the better to help with the air’s mouth feel.

PS: Everything’s fine and we’re having a good time. Not least because we’re being smart about this vacation. Like doing cultural stuff in places with HVAC.

Creature seed: the Malaysian Assassin Butterfly.

The Malaysian Assassin Butterfly

Geez, have one butterfly species mutate into a magic-sensitive version with distinctive skull-and-crossbone markings, a stinger, and hallucinogenic venom and then suddenly everybody wants to go Full Metal Pulp Adventure on it.  To begin with, the stinger is demonstrably incapable of piercing human skin.  Seriously, some very, very unsavory people with a strange sense of drama conducted some rather immoral human testing along those lines.  Second, sure, if you grind up a bunch of the butterflies you’ll end up with a paste that will make you see things. But you’d have to grind up a lot of butterflies to get the effect. It’s cheaper to go out and score some LSD, by far.
