It kinda depends. How dependent are humans upon their hosts? Even if we are no more then fleas upon the cosmic scale we might want the dog we inhabit to stay healthy and to win any fights it gets into as a way of staying healthy. Another question that comes to mind is whether we can migrate to other dogs or if our fate is completely tied to our native dog. There’s also the question of what benefits there are from winning such fights and whether they carry over to the fleas. So we might have a legitimate interest in this. 🙂
