Assuming anybody cares about the one-day pledge drive…

…and, let’s be honest? It was one of the sillier ones I’ve done.  You thus are under no obligation to care.  Anyway: thanks to a new wonderful donator, I’ll be able to grab one of the add-on PDFs*. Awesome!

No, really. It’s always awesome to get paid for something. People who sneer at that probably have other issues in life, poor things. As for me, I shall read my PDF in contentment. …And, well, in existential horror, because it’s Delta Green.

THE DELTA GREEN KICKSTARTER IS LIVE. (With a one-day pledge drive.)

Am I shouting? I am shouting. It is live, and it is spectacular.

…And, what the heck: one-day pledge drive. I will spend whatever I get on the Delta Green Kickstarter: if I somehow manage to hit $250 (I will not manage to hit $250) I’ll get the six-book option and… we’ll figure something out at that point. Maybe I’ll host a contest and give ’em out as prizes. Maybe I’ll send a couple to the troops. Maybe I’ll just cackle madly and run a game via Skype. There’s just no way to know what will happen!

…Sorry. I’ve wanted a new edition for, like, forever. Delta Green and In Nomine remain my two favorite game worlds.

Oooh: Delta Green is soliciting scenario pitches.

For, like, money. Unfortunately, I don’t have an active DG campaign running (more importantly, I don’t have the time to come up with something from scratch), but if you’ve ever thought that that one Delta Green adventure your wrote up was pretty special then now would be the time to go dust it off and revise it for submission.  Also: they’re gonna start the Kickstarter soon!  Which means we get to finally see just how badly it all went to Azathoth since the fall of Majestic-12.

In the (e-)mail: Delta Green: Extraordinary Renditions.

A digital copy of Delta Green: Extraordinary Renditions was a backer-only reward for the Delta Green: Tales from Failed Anatomies Kickstarter. I’ve been looking forward to it – it’s an anthology of Delta Green (government conspiracy Cthulhu horror) fiction, after all. I’ll let you know how it is.

Tweet of the Day, Delta Green Will Return! edition.

Coolness. I am curious to see where Delta Green ended up.  It ended up somewhere bad, of course – but that’s bad in the ‘bad luck’ sense, and hopefully not the ‘bad game’ one:

…What? Oh, that staffer with racial issues is apparently no longer at Kickstarter*. I can link to projects again, if I want to. And so I shall.

*Obviously, my boycott had nothing to do with it, but it’s the principle of the thing.

The Delta Green Bundle of Holding. [Gamers will want to buy this.]

I am not getting this one solely because I already HAVE all of it. Delta Green is one of the greatest roleplaying campaign settings of all time, and is one of my absolute favorites. Twenty bucks is dirt cheap for this much concentrated awesome.

PS: They’re going to be doing a new edition, and I am going to be one of the Alpha Team playtesters.  I paid money to be on Alpha Team; that is how much I love this game.

PPS: If you’ve gotten this far without already knowing… well, OK: Delta Green is a roleplaying game that is usually described as “X-Files meets Call of Cthulhu,” which is a correct but not sufficient description.

Guess it’s a Cthulhu Mythos Labor Day Weekend.

Good news on the Delta Green front: more details on the next edition of the game have come out. Cannot wait:

Delta Green: The Roleplaying Game will comprise two books coming mid-2014. An Agent’s Handbook includes the core rules, how to create a character, and what the world looks like to the player characters. A Case Officer’s handbook includes details on the Mythos, both the official view of the Cthulhu Mythos and ways to change it up to keep players guessing; as well as guidelines for running the game. Sourcebooks will explore specific factions and threats in depth, such as an early one on PISCES and operations in the UK. A World War II book will be its own standalone game based on the DG rules coming soon after the core RPG.

Also, new DG fiction in September: it will be Kickstarted, so keep an eye out. Continue reading Guess it’s a Cthulhu Mythos Labor Day Weekend.

Interesting Delta Green-themed podcast from the Unspeakable Oath.

Essentially, what they’re changing, what they’re not, what the updated version is going to look like, that sort of thing.  Features most of the DG heavy hitters, plus Ken Hite.

It’s going to take me forever to listen to the whole thing, though.  Kids.
