Hey, Brad Woodhouse! The NH Republican party can use Levasseur, yes?

Yeah, you: Brad Woodhouse of the DNC!  It’s cool if the state GOP raises some money on NH Democrat Nickolas Levasseur’s hate speech, right?

My Interests

Medicine, biology, mathematics, anything that doesn’t involve Organic Chemistry, cars that don’t begin with “Ford” and end with “Aspire”, HBO series, Bill Mahar, politics, the hunting of neo-conservative Reaganites (a shooting sport brought to you by the republican party in more ways than one!), sleeping (it is sad when necessary life takes become occational hobbies).

(Via Riehl World View) I mean, I know that he hangs with the President and everything, but, hey: on spelling errors alone surely we’re entitled to raise some cash off of him.  Particularly since he’s an actual racist, and not one of the imaginary ones that you constructed to get monthly revenues back up after February.

PS: You guys should really start thinking about how many Nikolaus Levasseurs are out there and habitually talking trash because nobody in the Democratic party (present company not excluded, Brad) has had the backbone to police its own side.   Or maybe you shouldn’t: we’d like as many seats as possible in November.

Reviewing the January 2010 fundraising numbers.

The combination of CPAC and a reduced feeling of urgency delayed this for a couple of days, but here are the numbers for January.  Short version: RNC over DNC, effective ties (as in, less than 10K/20K differences ) for the Congressional and Senatorial committees, and the Democrats retain their cash-on-hand advantage.

It’s that time again.  Short version: RNC above DNC, DNC took a big cash on hand hit, NRSC over DSCC in the biggest shocker, NRCC/DCCC more or less the same, DCCC has a big CoH advantage, and blessed if I know how much any of this means, post-Citizens’ United and post-Brown.

Reviewing the November Fundraising Numbers.

It’s that time again.  Short version: the RNC & NRSC beat out their Democratic counterparts – which is odd, considering that they’re the groups giving the Republican base the most aggravation; the NRCC pulled in less than the DCCC; the Democrats have a pretty good COH advantage (although the RNC spent a bunch of money in November); and the Democrats apparently aren’t planning to retire their debt.

As promised. Short version: DNC beat RNC, NRSC edged DSCC, DCCC edged NRCC, and cash on hand would worry me more if the GOP hadn’t just removed the NJ & VA governorships from the Democrats and essentially handed NY-23 as part of a unfortunate but necessary life lesson to the GOP leadership.

Reviewing the September fundraising numbers.

It’s that time again.  Short version: RNC beat DNC, but DSCC & DCCC significantly outraised their counterparts – sufficiently so that the Democrats raised more overall for the month.  When debt is factored in, the Democrats also went from being significantly behind on cash-on-hand to being slightly ahead.  That being said: the RNC and NRCC are both reporting significant increases in small-person donors.

Waiting on the DNC…

I would like to crunch the numbers for September, except that the DNC hasn’t released their monthly totals yet.  Given that the Democrats had great months for both their Senatorial and Congressional campaigns, it’s going to take exceedingly little for the Democrats to have both more money raised and more cash on hand this month.  The DNC had over 15 million in the bank last month; even assuming no change in that it’s enough to make for a significant COH advantage.

On the bright side – and it is a significant bright side – small-donor contributions are up for both the RNC and NRCC.

White House pulls DNC ad to mollify… Bob Dole.

How worried is the White House that it doesn’t have any Republican support for its health care rationing bill?

WASHINGTON (Oct 11) – The Democratic National Committee is canceling a television ad touting GOP support for health care reform after protests from one of the Republicans mentioned, former Senate Majority Leader Bob Dole.

Dole told ABC News on Sunday that he objected to the ad’s criticism of the current Republican leadership.

“I just didn’t think it was fair, when I’ve tried to be helpful in encouraging a bipartisan solution, for the DNC to run an ad that I interpreted and I know others did as a backhanded comment about Republicans,” Dole said.

This worried. Also, desperate: after all, while I have nothing against former Senator Dole I’m also not that interested in his position on health care. If the President wants the GOP to sign off on his health care proposals, there are plenty of current Republican elected officials for him to court. The complication that most of them have been repeatedly rebuffed by this administration for months (and are thus legitimately disbelieving of the administration’s motives) is a complication of the administration’s own making, and is their complication to resolve. Wow, this is off-message.

The DNC:

“The Republican Party has thrown in its lot with the terrorists – the Taliban and Hamas this morning – in criticizing the President for receiving the Nobel Peace prize,” DNC communications director Brad Woodhouse told POLITICO.

Meet some terrorist lot thrower-inners.

Glenn Greenwald:

there are simply no meaningful “peace” accomplishment in his record — at least not yet — and there’s plenty of the opposite. That’s what makes this Prize so painfully and self-evidently ludicrous.

Peter Beinart:

I like Barack Obama as much as the next liberal, but this is a farce. He’s done nothing to deserve the prize.

Ezra Klein:

How long till the Nobel Committee just gives up the ghost and names “you!” the winner of the peace prize?

Lot of people discovered this morning that they’ve suddenly been made Republicans now, is all I’m saying.
