Seriously, what is Joe Biden waiting for?
You don’t have to be a Democrat to wonder about this: “[Joe] Biden placed a personal call to Harold Schaitberger, president of the International Association of Firefighters, early Friday morning to discuss his potential candidacy and a strategy to win, Schaitberger said.” Look, it’s mid-October. There are a bunch of things that candidates to have to do in order to get into the various state primaries. Those primary deadlines are tick-tocking away. If Joe Biden doesn’t make up his mind, then his mind will be made up for him.

RedState Interview: Rick Wilson and I discuss the Democrats’ Cruel Emails of Fear.

#rsrh Daley shows Obama’s… fears?
So… William Daley didn’t like Obamacare, didn’t like Dodd-Frank, and he’s heavily pro-NAFTA and pro-business.
I think that I may agree with Jen Rubin: maybe he’d like a job as a Republican President’s Chief of Staff? There may be a job opening in 2013*. That he’s even being considered in the job in the first place by a Democrat is a pretty powerful hint about how we’re doing right now. Remember: it’s not what the politicians say, it’s what they do. And right now it looks like what at least one Democratic politician is doing right now is trying to keep from breaking out in fear-sweats.
*Snark aside, the abortion issue would probably sink that; Daley’s been a little too public on that subject.
QotD, excellent advice edition.
From a New Hampshire Union Leader editorial crediting the Tea Party with ensuring that Senate Minority Leader McConnell would refuse to play ball on the Omnibus:
The truth is that without the constant vigilance currently provided by what can loosely be called the Tea Party movement, Republicans would be just as happy as Democrats to squander taxpayer money. They are only acting frugal now because they know they’re being closely watched, so keep watching.
For the rest of your lives, in fact: civic duty never ends. Just in case nobody’s ever mentioned that.
