Well, we’re up to Chapter 10 back from the editor, and she’s still laughing at the funny bits, so that’s good. The FROZEN DREAMS Kickstarter progresses as we get to single digits on the days left for it. I was supposed to do more work on the RPG supplement, but it was a day here at Chez Lane. I’m amazed that I was as productive as I was, honestly.
All in all, not a dramatic kind of day.

It’s all mixed together at this point, honestly.

The biggest thing? New tiers. I finally bowed to the inevitable and put up a very limited international tier where they’ll have to pay a lot of shipping to get the book. People asked for it, so what can I do? I also decided to do a sixty buck tier where you get the book and a sonnet. That’s mostly to amuse myself with nostalgia; I don’t expect people to go for it.
I also have two chapters back from the editor that need processing. Fortunately, there’s not much to do. That’s good, yah?

Well, I’ve run out of FROZEN DREAMS physical book tiers again. I’m debating whether to do a third tier, only this time charging shipping*. I also had an idea of a limited $50 tier where you get a physical book and a sonnet, but that’s just me dredging up fundraising tricks from my SCA group back in grad school. I mean, I can do sonnets in my sleep, but that might be just a little too cute for words.

*Admittedly, if I did that I could do international shipping, for those two or three people who showed an interest. It’s just that the shipping is so expensive. More to the point, it’s also potentially so very unreliable, these days. That second consideration weighs more on me than does the first.
Chapter 1 of the (potential) audiobook version of FROZEN DREAMS.
Here is the link to a working copy of the first audiobook chapter of FROZEN DREAMS! And if we hit the $3,000 stretch goal, it’ll even get funded. Think it’s going pretty well.

Things progress apace. I’ve just gotten Chapter 5 back from the editor and will be making changes accordingly. I’m mildly surprised at how little I mind having my stuff edited, but it helps to have a good one. 9 times out of 10 I wince and go Yeah, I should have done it that way to begin with. It’s very humbling.

Wow, OK, that worked. “That” being my promise to make this recipe if I hit two grand on the FROZEN DREAMS Kickstarter today. I did, thus necessitating the assemblage of the ingredients. I was particularly impressed with the way my wife handed me a bunch of muffin cups when I asked, slightly despairingly, whether we even had such an esoteric item. She’s good at that sort of thing.
Anyway: behold! Red Wine Chocolate Mini Muffins!
The Great 04/13/2020 Kickstarter Flat-Out Cooking DARE.
Here we go. IF I hit $2,000 on the Kickstarter today I shall make this recipe:
I have everything except the sprinkles. I will do this. I will not be constrained by the artificial chains of sanity, and none shall stand in my way! Not society, not civilization, and nay, not even my wife and her endearing wince at my enthusiasms! The muffins will be made. THIS, I COMMAND!
Plus, I get muffins out of it.

BEHOLD! The above is the first two minutes of FROZEN DREAMS, narrated by Sally Stewart, narrator of “Jocasta: The Mother-Wife of Oedipus.” We haven’t hit that pledge goal for the Kickstarter – yet – but, with less than $200 to go for the $2K stretch goal, I need to be keeping track of what’s coming up, and what I may have to pay for. If you like audiobooks, or just want to hear the first scene from the book, check it out!
