Movie of the Week: GODZILLA MINUS ONE.

GODZILLA MINUS ONE seemed to have taken forever to make it over here in physical form – I can only conclude that the studio really wasn’t expecting it to take off as hard in the United States as it did – but we have it now. No digital copy included, but that’s all right. I’ve already watched it on one of the streaming services. No Minus Color version, either, which is less all right. Ach, well.

The B&W GODZILLA MINUS ONE coming to Netflix in August.

I am legitimately eager to see this. I wanted to see the black and white version of GODZILLA MINUS ONE in theaters, but my schedule never quite worked for that. Netflix will just have to do. (The color version is also available on Prime Video.)

You know what the funny part is? I sort of remember this movie as being in black and white anyway. Weird, that.

Tweet of the Day, GODZILLA MINUS ONE About To Hit American Streaming? edition.

Maybe:

No word on when we get the actual DVD. I, obviously, require the actual DVD. They can’t actually mess with physical media, once it’s been sold.

GODZILLA MINUS ONE having one last, B&W release, theatrical run.

Neat: “70 years after instilling fear in global audiences 1954’s black and white Godzilla, the King of the Monsters will once again menace moviegoers in monochrome as Godzilla Minus One is re-released for one week only as Godzilla Minus One/Minus Color.” …It is a witness to that movie’s aesthetic that I had to remind myself for a second that it was in color. I probably won’t be able to see it in B&W in theaters, but I’m absolutely getting the DVD that has that cut as a special feature…

Looks like I won’t be seeing GODZILLA MINUS ONE until *next* week.

Because it’s gonna be a date movie! My wife is an old-school Godzilla movie fan, you see*. So since GODZILLA MINUS ONE is well on its way to being a hit, and I can confirm that it’ll be playing next week where we can see it, a date movie it shall be.

But don’t wait on me, folks. Go ahead and catch it. I hear that it’s really good.
