In all the talk about the Democratic candidates for president in 2016, why isn’t Joe Biden at the top of the list?
Oh, oh, my.

PS: No, this is sheer delicacy on my part. The man did just have a rather severe loss.

Sorry: I can’t write out ‘truth to power’ with a straight face when it comes to Joe Biden. Anyway… “Sen. Tom Cotton challenged Vice President Joe Biden’s criticism of the GOP’s letter to Iran, questioning his foreign policy expertise…. “Joe Biden, as [President] Barack Obama’s own secretary of defense has said, has been wrong about nearly every foreign policy and national security decision in the last 40 years,” the Arkansas Republican said Tuesday on MSNBC.”
Tom Cotton went on to note that if Joe Biden loves the Senate so much then he should have told the President point-blank to stop trying to squeeze Congress out of the treaty-making process. Left unsaid, apparently, was the (to me, at least) commonplace observation that since Barack Obama keeps claiming that he doesn’t know about anything until it hits the papers then Sen. Cotton had pretty much no choice but to advise the President in a format that President Obama would at least find familiar. Also left unsaid: Vice President Biden should probably start remembering that the Senate is increasingly a place filled with people who are contemptuous of him, and rightly so. We went to quite some trouble to replace Mark Pryor with Tom Cotton, after all… Continue reading Senator Tom Cotton (R, AR) speaks truth to Biden on foreign policy.
Admittedly, in a half-cringing, apologetic fashion that was actively painful to read. It was like the author was writing it under the watchful eye of a man of uncertain temper and poor communications skills… which is probably accurate, at that. Oh, I’m sure that it’s not overt, or anything. But Lord knows that white progressive males do not like to be the targets of a self-criticism session…
Via Instapundit. Continue reading Talking Points Memo kind of creeped out by Joe Biden.
…What? No, this isn’t about the ‘butt buddy’ thing. I actually understood from the beginning what Vice President Joe Biden was trying to say there: he was trying to use a bowderlized version of ‘[***]hole buddy,’ which was originally a common enough (and not actually sexual) slang term during my father’s and Joe Biden’s respective generations. I mean, sure: only Joe Biden could manage to allege a homosexual relationship between himself and a member of the audience while trying to not raise any eyebrows with his phraseology. But that is, as they say, how the Joe Biden do.
No, the stupid thing Joe Biden said today was his blithe decision to inextricably link the eventual Democratic candidate to President Barack Obama. Continue reading Joe Biden said something incredibly stupid in Iowa today.
Admittedly, I’ve actively disliked the man since 2008, but this seems noteworthy.

And it’s not even the standard creep factor. Joe Biden just seems to be… increasingly a bit off in his emotional responses, these days. To the point where I might be wondering about his neurological status even if I wasn’t a partisan hack.
The more I read about Hunter Biden (VP Joe Biden’s son) cocaine-fueled discharge from the Navy, the more it stinks on ice:
…it is worth noting that, while Biden’s summary discharge occurred last February, it did not become public until the Wall Street Journal revealed the story this week. Biden’s statement about “the honor of my life to serve in the U.S. Navy” — for one month! — was issued through his lawyer.
Evidently there was an effort, successful for eight months, to conceal this curious episode. But while the attempted cover-up is, perhaps, understandable from Vice President Biden’s perspective, the real scandal here is not Hunter Biden’s cocaine use, or his father’s protection of an errant son, but the fact that Hunter Biden was commissioned in the naval reserve in the first place.
Well, it’s a scandal but not a surprise: Vice Presidents, believe it or not, actually have a lot of pull. Even Joe Biden. Enough to get an unqualified and overaged son a commission, at least; and enough to delay a cocaine scandal. Continue reading Why Hunter Biden will get away with being thrown out of the Navy for cocaine use.
…the second time, to apologize:
Vice President Joe Biden on Sunday called the crown prince of the United Arab Emirates to clarify that he did not mean to imply in his remarks last week that the Gulf ally was supporting al-Qaida fighters in Syria.
And to semi-quote JRR Tolkien, don’t forget: the Democrats decided to make this man the backup to the Presidency. Because I certainly won’t forget; I suppose that I might forgive them some day, but this is not that day. Continue reading To semi-quote Diane Duane, Joe Biden is always being taken places twice…
I honestly and truly do not like to tell people that the best thing that they can do for the Republic is not to vote.
But…

…if Joe Biden’s argument here swayed you – if the thought that Mitt Romney, if elected, would try to:
– and you thought that this was all a bad thing; then I will submit to you that in voting for Obama-Biden you made the single most foolish, uninformed, and downright dangerous Presidential vote that you are likely to make in your life. And while I absolutely respect the right of you to exercise your franchise – better men and women than either you or I died to protect that right – it is my humble request that you refrain from damaging the country that we both love in the future. I have kids, you see. I don’t want to see them worse off than I was, at their age.
