New Avengers: Endgame Super Bowl spot drops.
Time to analyze it to a fare-thee-well!

Shocking, no? They’ve got a director for Doctor Strange 2 (C. Robert Cargill) and dropping heavy hints that they figured out a way for Killmonger to show up for Black Panther 2. Before anybody freaks out about that, here’s SyFy’s observation:

Surprisingly presumably nobody, Black Panther got nominated for Best Picture. One of seven Oscar nominations (the rest being tech stuff); you can see all the other nominations here, but honestly it’s going to be this and who wins Best Animated Picture* that I expect most people reading this site will care about. If I had to guess: if Black Panther doesn’t win then BlacKkKlansman will. I heard that that movie was actually good, too. You can’t always count on that happening. HERE WE GO: Spider-man: Far From Home trailer drops.
I don’t know what the fuss was over this, honestly.

Doctor Doom movie dead. At Fox.
At least, that’s the word: “…Fox has been developing films for Gambit, X-Force, and Doctor Doom for quite awhile, but according to a recent report… those movies are all dead thanks to the upcoming Fox and Disney merger.” ‘Recent report’ being a tweet, but OK. It’s 2019, that’s how this stuff goes now. Continue reading Doctor Doom movie dead. At Fox.
The ‘Huh. I missed this Captain Marvel trailer’ trailer.
This is actually all right. Cocky, powerful, foreshadowing that she’s going to overreach and then have to learn some humility; they’re more or less ripping off Thor here, but that’s OK. The real worry for me, honestly, was that they’d Mary-Sue Captain Marvel right from the start and then things would get tedious in Endgame. If they’re going to instead use this movie to make her get her head on a swivel then that’ll do. Continue reading The ‘Huh. I missed this Captain Marvel trailer’ trailer.
I think Kevin Feige will bow out after Avengers: Endgame.
Why? Not specifically because of this quote:
“The notion of the characters coming back is great. It’s nice when a company that created all these characters can have access to all those characters. It’s unusual not to. But in terms of actually thinking about it and actually planning things, we haven’t started that yet.”

The Obligatory ‘Avengers Endgame’ Trailer post.
Here we go, folks.
Final roll of the dice. Oh, sure, Captain Marvel drops before then, and that will be something to observe. But Avengers: Endgame is where Marvel/Disney demonstrates whether they’ve been wasting our time up until now. Guess we’ll see in April!

PS: Paul Rudd is just about perfect there at the end, mind you.
Phase Two Of The Great Marvel Fan-Madness to break out this weekend.
[Geek Tyrant] puts it succinctly enough: “Multiple sources confirmed that the trailer was supposed to drop today, but I found out this morning that the trailer has been pushed to Friday, December 7th. …It’s also being reported by Collider that the first trailer for Spider-Man: Far From Home will drop this Saturday, December 8th during the Sony Panel at Comic-Con Experience in São Paulo, Brazil, and it will then make its way online shortly after.” The reason for this? GHWB’s lying-in-state — and there are any number of people who are doubly grinding their teeth over that, let me tell you*.
