Disney’s low-balling their own number, of course — they’re saying it’ll ‘only’ be $175 million or more — but the rest of the people in the industry are saying that Avengers: Infinity War will hit over 200 million in its opening weekend. Will it? I’m of several minds on this one. Continue reading Avengers: Infinity War projected for 200+ Million opening.

Would this be worth letting Thanos win?
Well, obviously not.

But the basic point is correct: Marvel has an obvious way to rejuvenate the MCU, doesn’t it?

PS: There is a rumor of a possibility of a hint that Silver Surfer might have a walk-on role of some kind in Infinity War. Not to get your hopes up, or anything. And if that sounds like something would have leaked, well: you’d say the same of Spider-Man showing up in Civil War.

“There was no Venom Suit shown in the Venom trailer.”
“That was the curious incident.”

Avengers 4 shooting starts…
…and maybe, just maybe, they’re going to be able to pull all of this off: “Avengers 4 is set to be the culmination of every major plot thread over the course of 22 movies in 10 years for the MCU.” As that article notes, almost all of the core actors’ contracts are expiring, and they’re starting to show some signs of being ready to go do other movies. Plus, probably some of ’em are gonna die in Avengers: Infinity War. Not Spider-Man, of course, he’s safe: the studios will be using him for the next stage of the MCU. Why? Because Spider-Man Homecoming will bring in over three hundred million domestically and, more importantly, didn’t suck. So he’ll be the anchor for the next iteration. Thor Ragnarok script? :giggle: :snort: :guffaw:
I, like GeekTyrant, am not entirely certain that I believe this story:

“My style of working is I’ll often be behind the camera, or right next to the camera yelling words at people, like, ‘Say this, say this! Say it this way!'” he said. “I’ll straight-up give Anthony Hopkins a line reading. I don’t care.”

I would like them to give Michael Pena more to do in the MCU.
I mean, these were two of my favorite scenes in Ant Man.

The character’s not quite at sidekick level yet, but he’s definitely above ‘minion’ by the end of the flick.

PS: Yeah. Cannot wait for Ant Man and the Wasp. Yup, that’s what they’re calling it.

The list itself is OK, although I quibble that Captain America: The First Avenger is ranked too low. But while I agree that this is the best bit in all the films…
