Priorities:

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) did not attend the Wednesday evening vote series to hold former IRS official Lois Lerner in contempt for refusing to testify about the agency’s improper scrutiny of Tea Party groups.

She was, however, at a Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee fundraiser attended by the president and roughly 90 guests at the home of Disney Chairman Alan Horn in Bel Air, Calif., according to a White House pool report.

On the bright side, we now can put an upper-limit monetary value on just how much the Democratic party cares about Lois Lerner’s travails.  Although I imagine that it’s probably no fun to know that your so-called ‘defenders’ don’t think that you’re worth more than three, four hundred thousand bucks? – Because that’s kind of chump change, in this business of ours. Well, at least Nancy Pelosi didn’t claim that the Jews made Robert Gibbs do it.

I hope Nancy Pelosi stays House Minority Leader until the day she dies: “House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., brushed off former White House press secretary Robert Gibbs’ prediction that Obamacare’s twice-delayed employer mandate will never take effect by suggesting he is being paid to talk down the law that he touted as it moved through Congress.”

…I mean, don’t get me wrong: I got no particular love or respect for Robert Gibbs. It wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest to hear that he’s a trained seal for whoever cuts the checks. But I imagine that a Venn diagram would show considerable overlap between Robert Gibbs’ Customers and People Who Give Money to Democrats: I find it odd that Nancy Pelosi apparently wants to make that area smaller.  Odd, but highly amusing.

Nancy Pelosi seems to think that #obamacare is *still* a winner.

So, Nancy Pelosi…

Um. Nancy Pelosi. Pelosi.  P-E-L-O-S-I.  She used to be Speaker of the House, remember?  Yeah, back in 2010.  She stopped being Speaker after the Republican party used Obamacare to gut the Democrats’ House caucus.  …What? Oh, no, she didn’t retire: Nancy stayed on as House Minority Leader, which is pretty much why the GOP only lost a handful of seats in 2012.  No, I don’t know why she stuck around either.

Here’s Nancy recalling a chat she had with her five-year-old grandson, whom we’ll call “Pelosi 2002.” Pelosi 2002 couldn’t understand how intervening in a chaotic sectarian bloodletting with fanatics on all sides is in America’s national interest. Simple, said Pelosi 2013: The head fanatic is killing children with gas. “Didn’t Saddam do that to Kurdish children?” asked Pelosi 2002, his big brown eyes wide with confusion. No no, kidding — I like to imagine that he thought that, but kept quiet out of respect for his elders.

I have to admit, it’s entertaining to watch the Democrats on this.  The Left is stuck in a position where supporting the President means opposing the general will of the people, and they don’t have the inherent natsec credibility enjoyed by Republicans that would allow them to get away with supporting the President anyway.  You can guess just how sympathetic I am to their plight, too…

I was wondering when Pelosi’s handlers would realize that the poor woman stepped in it.

Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi’s office clarified on Friday her apparent disinterest in returning to her old job as House speaker.

Why has Bob Filner not been arrested? #waronwomen

Is there not enough evidence by now for a grand jury? Because there are several members of the National Women’s Veterans Association of America (NWVAA) that would no doubt like an answer to those two questions.

Three weeks ago, as women began to step forward to reveal instances of sexual harassment, the veterans at the NWVAA began to compare notes.

Tara Jones, the president of the group, said she’s spoken to seven to eight women who had varying encounters with Filner at the women’s veteran events, from groping to unwanted requests for dates.

“He went to dinners, asked women out to dinners, grabbed breasts, buttocks. The full gamut. Everything that is complete violation of what we stand for,” Jones said. “He’s a sexual predator. And he used this organization for his own personal agenda.”

How long did @NancyPelosi know that Bob Filner (D) was a predator?

Because Bob Filner apparently didn’t start when he became mayor of San Diego:

Lisa Curtin, who is director of government and military education at San Diego City College, is the eighth woman to accuse Filner of unwanted sexual advances.

Curtin said at the time, neither she nor her staffers reported the incident to authorities because of shock and fear.

“Filner made it very clear how powerful he thought he was,” Curtin said. “He discussed that in the meeting; The kind of authority he had, that he had been pulling strings all over San Diego for many years.”

Nancy Pelosi must resign from the House over Bob Filner coverup.

I usually try not to put things that starkly, particularly since a Republican saying that a Democrat needs to resign is going to be (justifiably) taken with a grain of salt, but… this is ridiculous.

“I blew the whistle on [Bob Filner’s sexual harassment] two years ago to the Democratic Party leadership,” former Assemblywoman Lori Saldaña said.

Saldaña said that in summer 2011 six prominent women in local politics, business and education told her that Filner had physically or verbally harassed them. Saldaña had been exploring what turned out to be an unsuccessful bid for Congress and the conversations came in the context of the 2012 elections.

Saldaña said she contacted former [California] party Chairman Jess Durfee with the allegations and Durfee was among a group of Democratic leaders who met with Filner to discuss them that summer. She said nothing happened.
