In Nomine Revisited: Satan, Malakite Angel of Temptation.

Oddly enough, this was not the most controversial thing I ever wrote for the In Nomine fan community. No… that prize goes for my write-up of the One Ring, which infuriated a whole slew of people and I still don’t know why.  And I’ve wondered why for twenty years.

Tweet of the Day, Satan Apparently Set Up A Franchise edition.

I find this all incredibly entertaining, considering that there’s some question whether Lucifer and Satan are even meant to represent the same entity, theologically speaking. It’s a fascinating subject, really. As long as you keep in mind that at any given time any of the people writing about might suddenly go off on a tangent that would allow them to slingshot-orbit Pluto.

…Which has nothing to do with sleazy pulp covers, sorry.

Hell Bent: MERCS VERSUS SATAN IN HELL ITSELF!!!!

I have to admit, this is a concept that will invariably get my attention:

In Hell Bent, a group of mercenaries imprisoned in a Brazilian jail are murdered and led into the depths of hell by a priest who wishes to use their skills to kill Satan before he brings hell to Earth.

Especially since it’d be interesting to see what happens when they succeed. I mean, I assume that they’re going to succeed. It’s an action flick, not a horror film. But… OK, they’re dead, and presumably they have guns, right? Unless they’re all martial arts dudes, which is not a problem, because kung fu against demons is totally fine and has been done before.  But they’re dead, so they can’t be killed again, right? And what happens when Satan gets killed? They’re still dead, right? Do they own Hell now? And what about the priest? Isn’t all of this, like, an elaborate form of suicide?

…I don’t have answers for any of it. But if the director’s even thought about it – admittedly, sometimes a big ‘if’ – it’ll be a fun flick.

Tweet of the Day, …Who’s next to stand up for @PPAct? NAMBLA? edition.

As I noted on Twitter yesterday, we can more or less call this a public relations FAIL.
