Iowa Democrats kind of not ready for Hillary.

The more you think about this story, the weirder it gets.

Democrats are beginning to worry that Hillary Clinton is creating a drought in Iowa.

A year out from the Iowa caucus, some party members fret that Hillary Clinton’s dominance in the Democratic field will leave the party high and dry as the campaign season intensifies. A lack of competition within the party may hurt fundraising and makes it hard to develop the new blood that often grows out of highly competitive races, some party activists say.

The White House and their false claims of deficit busting, in one handy picture.

Short version: use this image against would-be Democratic deficit busters.

fixed deficit

Longer version: the White House is trying to have its own facts, again. At issue is their recent attempt to brag that the deficit for 2014 has been reduced to a ‘mere’ 2.8% of GDP. As Twitchy ably notes/rebutted in response, that would be great, except for two minor little problems:

  • The debt is still spiraling out of control; and
  • As the Washington Times put it, back in October: “The deficit has indeed declined, but from the $1.4 trillion peak achieved in Mr. Obama’s stimulus-fueled first year in office. He can hardly celebrate cutting in half what he first tripled.*”

The Moe Lane February I Wish To Replace This Computer fundraising drive.

Yes, it’s that time again. Basically, I’m putting together existing funds, hopefully coming-in funds from freelance writing, and whatever else I can scrape up here for a replacement computer that possibly doesn’t wheeze all day whenever I ask it to do more than 15 fps.  I figure that $750 or so should more or less do it, but I certainly wouldn’t mind more bells and whistles.

As the below chart shows, I have already made a start to this,

…but what the heck: time to rattle the tip jar.

There’s also an update on my Patreon account: short version is, I put up an original short-short story for Patrons only. That notification will probably get its own post, but you gotta flood the zone on this stuff.

Quote of the Day, SING It, Brothers @EdDriscoll / @JonahNRO. Sing It edition.

This is a gem from a gem of an article on the enjoyable past-time of watching the Angry Left balefully eat itself:

…let me interject by noting that the moment anyone says to you “We are calling for an occupation of syllabi,” you can put your headphones back on and finish watching the latest episode of Gotham, because nothing that follows will be worth your time.

I should also note there that this is in response to a Berkeley protest complaining about Karl Marx being taught… because he’s a white dude. Once I was done laughing, I was reminded of something written by another dead white dude*: “Do not call up that which you can not put down.” Good advice: such a pity that the Left decided to ignore it.
