It’s that kind of day.
I refuse to explain. It’s just… there, man.
Yet another Mass Effect musing.
I figure that these will die down for a while now, though.
So, I’m parking my Mass Effect 2 Shepard [SPOILERS AFTER FOLD]… Continue reading Yet another Mass Effect musing.
Annnnd here’s the latest Dragon Age 2 DLC.
Dragon Age 2: Legacy. Just what I need to de-stress myself – besides, it’s either this, or Mass Effect 2‘s Thresher Maw Grunt loyalty mission. I hate thresher maws.
Hmm. Only, which Hawke? The Rogue, or the Mage?

Blast from the ME2 past.
Doing another run-through of Mass Effect 2 – it’s been long enough since the last one that I can actually enjoy it – and I’ve hit this point, which is one of the funnier background things in the game.
I don’t believe I’m doing this. (Mass Effect spoilers)
Since I started playing Mass Effect, the effing Citadel Council has been a royal pain in the ass to my Spectre. “Ooh, we can’t have humans as Spectres!” “Ick, the Spectre is having funny visions!” “We’re going to lock you down and not let you save the galaxy! Nyah!” And I knew – because of what happens in Mass Effect 2 when you play the games out of order – what could happen to these SOBs. I have been looking forward to it, in fact.
And now that it’s at the decision point…
Dammit, dammit, dammit. Effing Paragon Hi-I’m-Playing-a-Girl-Scout-Lawful-Good-Mage-Adept. Who thought that it was a good idea to put morality into a effing video game, anyway?

[UPDATE]: OK, there’s something be said for being the cavalry.
Umm. Did Mass Effect *I* require an internet connection…
…to play? I ask because I just got my copy of Mass Effect, and it seems to be requiring that.
Bear in mind, obviously I have an internet connection; and I’m only playing it to build my Adept up and give her all the cool options for Mass Effect 2… so that I can have a really cool character for Mass Effect 3. Hmm. I’m starting to detect a pattern of addiction, here. Anyway, I can obviously play ME even if I need Net access; but was this a usual feature of the first game?
I have a bit of a recommendation for Bioware.
Patch its Firewalker and Overlord DLC for Mass Effect 2 so that it will permit saves of the Hammerhead portions…
OK, let me translate that. ‘DLC’ is “DownLoadable Content:” add-ons for the Mass Effect 2 video game, which has sucked me in whole, now that Dragon Age’s DLC is over and done with. Firewalker and Overlord are two DLCs that feature a new vehicle (the Hammerhead), which is a royal pain in the ass to maneuver and fire… and which you cannot save your game in the middle of playing those sequences, which means that when your vehicle burns in lava or acid you have to start the whole damned thing over again from the start.
This feature is annoying, and largely unnecessary, and the only reason why I’m still playing either DLC at this point is that I need the damned money I can generate from it to improve my squad before I go to the endgame. This is not an optimal reason to play DLC.
Arrgh.

PS: Lair of the Shadow Broker rocked on toast, by the way.
Whaddya *mean*, ‘Reinstall Witch Hunt’?
For real.
At this rate, I’ll be ready to have an end to the Dragon Age DLC. Mind you, I’m right now trying to figure out if I can wait for more Mass Effect 2 DLC – mostly because my character is apparently out of cash, darn it. Cheapskate Cerberus…
