I know full well that there’s a bigger story in ‘Musings of the King.’ I’m trying to write it. It’s just been a weird month.

Patreon Microfiction: Fighting Like Cats and Dogs.
RPG Setting: The Elmerite Order.
I did The Elmerite Order TTRPG setting on Patreon a while back, and just put up the collated version there. I’m also putting it up here. Enjoy!
Patreon Microfiction: Doing Good By Doing Bad.
The thing about Lawful Evil, as “Doing Good By Doing Bad” suggests, is that they don’t have to be invested in Evil for Evil’s sake. Or at least they can get their charge by watching Good squirm over having to sign. Or when they have to be polite, afterward, when the mutually-beneficial business is concluded to everyone’s specifications. It’s a rarified villainy, to be sure — but after a while, one’s evil palate grows more sophisticated.
My short-short “Crunch Time” now up on Patreon.
“Crunch Time” lost a flash fiction contest, alas. Still, I think it should have won, so I put it up on Patreon. Free to read, so click the link!
Patreon Microfiction: Bric-a-Brac.
Transhumanist fiction always talks about Transcendence and Directed Hyper-Evolution. It never talks about what happens next. Which, in this case, apparently involves being bric-a-brac on some unevolved human being’s desk.
Patreon Microfiction: Beginning of “Cleaning Up Afterward.”
Alas, Beginning of “Cleaning Up Afterward” started well, but never went anywhere. Such is life. They can’t all be brilliant.
Patreon Microfiction: Lucky Guesser.
Dice might have no memory, but sometimes they have a sadistic sense of humor.

Patreon Microfiction: From “The Coming of the Great Wyrm of Philadelphia.”
I didn’t even try to keep it at 100 words for From ““The Coming of the Great Wyrm of Philadelphia.” Sometimes you don’t constrain the Muse. Besides, the real trick was in not writing out the whole thing, because then I’d have to actually make it fit the old verse forms*.

*Trust me: my wife can explain to you quite comprehensively how I have not.
