‘Sarah, John! Sarah… from the *ID*!’*

(Via Ed Driscoll) Yes.  This is precisely how it comes across.

Oh hi there! I was out shooting caribou on the Arctic Cat and saw your synapse lights on, and so I said to myself, “now, gosh darn it, Sarah, you’ve been living inside this nice person’s cerebral cortex for, what is it, almost two years now? By golly, it’s about time you dropped in at their frontal lobe with a plate of your famous homemade Alaska welcome wagon cookies and introduced yourself.” So anyhoo, I sure hope you like ’em. Don’t want to give out a family recipe, but the secret ingredient is baby seal. I clubbed ’em fresh this morning!

Oh my goodness… you look kind of confused. I get that a lot! You were probably thinking, “hey, I only wanted to move next door to Sarah Palin — now what in the goshdarned heck is she doing inside my brain?” Well ya see, the deal is I’m not Sarah, but boy I gotta tell ya, we sure do get mistaken all the time! No, I’m just a plain ol’ homunculus Sarah Palin that your own id created to sublimate your deep-seated psychosexual neuroses. Or so those egghead books say, anyway. But if you ask me that sure sounds like a lot of elite Anti-America liberal professor gobbledegook! By the way, your id says hi.

As usual, the problem with excerpting Iowahawk is figuring out where to cut, so read the whole thing. I got nothing that can top it, anyway. Continue reading ‘Sarah, John! Sarah… from the *ID*!’*

#rsrh ‘What Allahpundit said.’

I’ve done my best to come up with some fresh angle to justify writing my own post on Sarah Palin, Jon Huntsman, and our bizarre human rights apology to a regime that used to shoot dissidents and charge their families for the bullet*… but it ain’t happening. I flatter myself that this is rare, but it happens.

So… what Allahpundit said.

Moe Lane

*They still kill dissidents, but they don’t charge the families for the bullet anymore. I believe that this is called ‘progress.’

This is not actually cognitive dissonance.

‘This’ being this picture (H/T Hot Air):

In order it to be cognitive dissonance, the people involved would have to have an internal conflict about the idea that they were simultaneously: declaring their area to be ‘hate’-free; and wishing for a woman’s death. Given recent history, it is too charitable to suggest that any of them have managed to have gotten so far as to think about the contradiction.

Moe Lane

PS: They hate you, too. I don’t recommend hating them back – it’s bad for your mental and spiritual development – but neither do I recommend trusting any of them with anything that you’d rather not lose. Continue reading This is not actually cognitive dissonance.

These people are simply *insane*.

You know, I had a fairly elaborate rant planned out over this bizarre Leno/Palin applause faux-scandal Allahpundit found (no direct link: frankly, the original ‘revelation’ was porn – and boring, over-specialized porn at that) and was likewise gobsmacked over – but I realized that my last paragraph was all that you needed for a response.  So here it is:

So, how far into Crazyland has the netroots gone when it comes to Sarah Palin?  Let me put it this way: I now wait in breathless anticipation for the day that someone in the Online Left announces that they’re about to be given incontrovertible evidence that she’s secretly a Jew.

The 2008 election is over, people.  When can we expect to start seeing that the Other Side has, you know, moved on?

I don’t regret my original post on this nonsense… #rsrh

…but I belatedly realized that it invested too much emotional energy in said nonsense. Eric Robinson is a sloppy writer and researcher who let his hatred blind him. The people who gave him a forum will now suffer through a time of embarrassment and corrections. The people who uncritically believed him have had their misogyny revealed, yet again. So let it end, there.

They’re worth my scorn, but not any more of my time.

[UPDATE] My RS colleagues insisted that I put the original back up. Bear in mind that I consider it a failure; not of my sentiments, but of my ability to hold my temper.

Great. Now the WH is stealing her *jokes*, too. #rsrh

They ain’t laughing with you, Sparky.

Gibbs.  Boychik.  When she did it, it was funny.

hi-mom

A quick response and a clever counter-taunt to the sexual attacks made on her by your side’s cheer-leading squad.  Makes it clear that said attacks will not be taken seriously without a word even being spoken. The Netroots hate not being taken seriously, so that works.

But when you (belatedly) do it?

Obama

You just look like a dweeb.  One who can’t even write your own material.

No wonder the press room groaned.

The speech was a Rorshach test, Smitty. #rsrh

At least, it was for Kleinheider, coupled with a big heaping of sour grapes about how nobody wants to come out and march for left-populism the way that they want to march for right- and libertarian-populism (not quite the same thing).  For that matter, the sexual connotations in Kleinheider’s first paragraph* would provide interesting fodder for a remote psychological viewing, if I inclined that way.  On the other hand, I haven’t actually seen THAT WOMAN’s speech, so I probably shouldn’t even be opining on the subject.  On the gripping hand: it’s Sunday, and since when do people not opine on subjects just because of… any reason, really?

See Instapundit for a round-up of more reactions.

*The erotic and sexual aspects associated with vampirism in modern Western society are of course well known; I suggest this post for a perusal of some of the literature.  And this one for a more pragmatic take.

Ah, former Governor Palin?

Time to start the waltz, methinks.

A few days ago Sissy Willis asked a very interesting question: Will Sarah Palin endorse Scott Brown?  I’ve been thinking about it a bit; and while I can see the arguments both pro and con, I think that it’s time that Sarah Palin did.  You have to speculate to accumulate, after all.

So let’s light this candle.

Moe Lane

PS: Scott Brown for US Senate.

Governor-elects Christie, McDonnell fib at the RGA shindig.

They were asked why they didn’t bring in former Governor Sarah Palin to campaign for them in Virginia & New Jersey, and both of them made what are entirely excusable fibs about scheduling conflicts and the need to stay focused on state-specific problems.  Come, I will hide nothing from you: they didn’t bring her in because both of them concluded that her reputation had taken a hit and had not recovered enough.

Yet.
