It was good! The second half of The Tick was a little smoother than the first half, and I liked the first half just fine. I also liked everybody’s character development and how the show never devolved into self-parody. The message was, I think, “You never know when somebody will turn out to be awesome.” I even ended up liking the guy who was kind of a jerk*, because the thing was he knew that he was kind of a jerk, and he was actually doing a better job than I credited him for in trying not to be. I’m surprised that I’ve never done So I Married An Axe Murderer, because it is a movie that changed my life. No, really. It was the way Mike Myers dressed in it. I know that this sounds fairly lame, but I realized that the clothing aesthetic might actually… work… for me? And it did! I looked better after I altered my wardrobe accordingly.
Also, it’s a howlingly good dark comedy (I’ve carefully not watched it recently, because I prefer my memory of it that way). So, since it’s the 25th anniversary of the movie being made…
The interesting thing about this Aquaman trailer?

Interesting, no? “Marvel Studios will give a solo spotlight to both Tom Hiddleston’s Loki and Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch, with each getting a TV miniseries to be offered exclusively through the Disney streaming service that is expected to launch in late 2019.”
:steady look: Continue reading Disney giving Loki and Scarlet Witch their own miniseries.
They’re going to adapt Tom Clancy’s Without Remorse and Rainbow Six. Michael B. Jordan will be playing the title character John Clark, and yes: I know that Clark was Irish and Jordan is African-American. Jordan was also Killmonger in Black Panther, and so ridiculously good in that role that I wish that they had kept the character alive. Also, the main plot of Without Remorse involved Clark going through Baltimore killing pimps and drug dealers in sometimes alarming ways; so I suspect that if you want them to otherwise stay faithful to the book, well…
But, seriously: Michael B. Jordan can do John Clark properly. I look forward to seeing the flicks. Assuming that they don’t end up sucking, of course.

Good use of music.
Not a criticism.
A low budget doesn't always mean a bad film, I'm liking the look of Pedro Pascal's sci-fi western 'Prospect', what do you think?https://t.co/c1BQ8m4I4n

Indeed, I am always up for a good sci-fi Western flick, and Prospect looks like it may be a… well, prospect. It’s coming to Regal theaters in November, which means I could actually see it! That doesn’t always happen to me, when it comes to indy SF movies.
