Got my @HPLHS Eldritch Elf from @MariahLStudios!
It’s very cool. An Elder Thing from Mountains of Madness, and a burned-wood Solstice ornament that goes up on the tree (once I get around to putting the tree up). You can find more of Mariah’s stuff at MariahLStudios.com. Check her out!

PS: I will admit: all I did was get my Eldritch Elf a set of four tentacle pint glasses from the HPLHS Store. I mean, I don’t regret doing it: something like that is firmly in the ‘I want some, but I’m never gonna buy them for myself,’ category, and that’s a solid gift-giving category. But it ain’t original art.
New @HPLHS DART announced: THE BLACK STONE!
THE BLACK STONE is one of Robert Howard‘s best stories, so I’m happy about that. I’m also happy that the other Howard’s apparently now on the menu, because PIGEONS IN HELL would be perfect for a HPLHS Dark Aventure Radio Theater production. But mostly I’m happy for another DART. I love these. I also have them all, except for MASKS OF NYARLATHOTEP, because I can’t afford it.
You can preorder THE BLACK STONE here.

Tweet of the Day, Boosting The Eldritch Signal edition.
I dunno if anybody else reading this is a HPLHS member, but…
The @HPLHS is doing a BOGO sale on E-DARTs for HPL’s birthday.
Yeah, that’s a lot of acronyms. Unpacked: the HP Lovecraft Historical Society is doing a buy-one, get-one free sale on the electronic versions of its Dark Adventure Radio Theater shows. This is a good deal, even if I’m not going to do it: I already have them all (well, except for Masks of Nylarathotep, because if I had $250 to spare I’d spend it on publishing more short stories) in physical form, complete with the binders and everything. But if you just want the DARTs and don’t care about the props, this is an excellent deal. They’re very good radio plays.
@HPLHS announces new #DART: PURGATORY CHASM.
That’s pretty much it, except that PURGATORY CHASM is apparently an original Dark Adventure Radio Theater production, and not an adaptation of Lovecraft (or contemporary horror author). Which is not too surprising: all the best HPL works have been adapted by now. Although I wouldn’t say no to seeing an adaptation of Robert Howard’s PIGEONS FROM HELL…
20% off in the @HPLHS Solstice Sale.
I should note for the record: I don’t see anything from this. I just like the stuff the HPL Historical Society puts out. I am, in fact, waiting with baited breath for the next Dark Adventure Radio Theater, the TITLE of which they could at least freaking ANNOUNCE… sorry. Anyway: 20 percent off purchases, for the next two days. Good deal, that.
Tweet of the Day, I Am A Lifetime @HPLHS Member Myself edition.
I find membership congenial, and it does on occasion offer discounts on HPL Historical Society products. But I mostly like it for the sheer look of the thing. Besides: who knows? If the Great Old Ones ever do come back, perhaps membership will get me special consideration. Although I’m not whether that’ll mean just getting last, or first…
@HPLHS’s “I can’t personally justify it but it’s worth every penny” CALL OF CTHULHU CLASSIC GAMER PROP SET.
Short version: Chaosium did a Kickstarter last year to reprint some classic Call of Cthulhu RPG supplements from the 1980s. The HPL Historical Society has gone out and done props for all of them: “These props go with the supplements reprinted as part of the Call of Cthulhu Classic set, which includes the original Call of Cthulhu Rulebook, The Cthulhu Companion, Fragments of Fear, The Asylum & Other Tales, Trail of Tsathoggua, and Shadows of Yog-Sothoth.”
The CoC Classic Gamer Prop Set will set you back a cool hundred bucks, and I don’t have the space for the props in question – but the HPLHS is the gold standard when it comes to game props. They just get it. If you’re a CoC gamer, you’ll get your money’s worth out of this deal.
Tweet of the Day, The @HPLHS Has Dropped Another Solstice Carol.
Very good, on multiple levels.
