I do like the LOKI show.

Then again, I like the Disney+ MCU shows generally. LOKI in particular is the sort of thing that can only be made when a studio has more money than God and is amusing itself by having Tom Hiddleston sing in Norwegian. Which he does a pretty good job at, mind you.

I know, I know. But the family wants the channel and we’re paying for it, so I might as well enjoy the stuff I like.

Watched the first episode of LOKI today.

It’s good, although some people online were a little surprised by the aesthetic. The aesthetic is VERY 1970s pre-digital bureaucratic, with analog everywhere. Personally, I liked it a lot — but I also associate said aesthetic with things like CONTROL or the SCP Foundation, which means I’m expecting LOKI to dive into cosmic horror pretty quick. Guess we’ll see if I’m right!

Lemme suggest ANOTHER reason why Emilia Clarke’s might want to be in SECRET INVASION.

Oh, she’s saying something deep…

…but I’m gonna say that the actual answer is MONEY. And there ain’t nothing wrong with that! MONEY’s what makes the world go round, after all. The Mouse has deep pockets, Ms. Clarke. Hold out for all that the traffic will bear.

The ‘COVID Doesn’t Kill It!’ VENOM: LET THERE BE CARNAGE trailer.

Astoundingly, this may still be a fun movie summer. I mean, starting Sunday the two week clock starts on full immunization for me.

Am I gonna see VENOM: LET THERE BE CARNAGE? Yeah, sure. The first VENOM was fun, if not exactly high cinema. And that’s fine with me. I’ve spent far too much time over the last year and a half being stuck with myself. Time to go just… do and see things. Things I didn’t make.
