Book of the Week: TINSE… Hah! Just kidding. It’s AGENT OF BYZANTIUM.

AGENT OF BYZANTIUM is a collection of Harry Turtledove’s Basil Argyros stories. They’re set in a timeline where Mohammed ended up a Christian bishop in Iberia (and eventual saint), instead of the founder of Islam; it’s now the 14th Century, and the Byzantine Empire is doing fine. Unfortunately for them, so are the Sassanids. Basically the stories are about technological innovations, and how an empire that’s not so much technophobic as it is cautious would deal with them. Good stuff all around.

Galactic Con tomorrow! (And I need a source for upcoming conventions.)

Everything’s packed up except for one bag for Galactic Con. If you’re in Howard County (Howard County Fairgrounds, 10 AM – 6 PM), come on by! Buy a book! Heck, buy them all so that I won’t have to lug anything home.

Also: I need a good ongoing resource for Maryland conventions and book fairs. Preferably the ones that don’t charge extremely large sums of money for tables. I’m not yet playing at that level.

TINSEL RAIN: Now in print!

This morning, I got the notification that TINSEL RAIN is live, and in paperback. I’ve already ordered the copies for the Kickstarter rewards: I tentatively think that I can start processing pledges in the first week of July. If you didn’t back the Kickstarter, you can order the books at the Amazon link above.

I will not have the books for Galactic-Con tomorrow, but I should have copies with me for conventions going forward. Definitely, for Fright Reads. Heck, I’m hoping to have another chapbook by then, too.

The print edition of TINSEL RAIN is In Review!

Checked the proof, made the changes, sent it in, had the usual issue with the imprint, fixed that, sent it in again. Now it’s just a matter of waiting to see if there are any lingering issues. Hopefully, you’ll be able to buy the TINSEL RAIN paperback by Monday. Hopefully.

You can still get it now on Kindle, though.

Don’t have a title for this yet.

I woke up last night with a sudden image in my head, and came right down to write it out. Then I went back to bed. I woke up this morning with another sudden image in my head, came right down to write it out – and it turned out to be absolute crap. …Ach, well, one out of two fever-dreams panning out isn’t half bad.
