Honestly, I wasn’t even going to bring either book up to the folks at Page After Page (the store hosting me on October 12). TALES FROM THE FERMI RESOLUTION Vol 1 is an anthology of short stories, not a novel; and GHOSTS ON AN ALIEN WIND is science fiction horror, not fantasy. But they got in touch with me, asked me about the new stuff, and we figure we’ll give it all a whirl. Worst case scenario, they don’t sell and I have a few extra copies around for a while.

At some point, my books are going to go up in price. I don’t really want them to, but… editors cost money, cover layout people cost money, and artists cost money. I pay for new books by selling the old ones, and when the professional market rate for services start going up (and they will go up), it gets more expensive for me to fund new projects.
I’ve already had to adjust the paperback price of Tales From The Fermi Resolution, to bring it in line with other books in the series. I will probably be adjusting paperback and Kindle prices further in 2025. So now is a great time to buy my books! It’ll save you a buck or two.

Gimme a break: I came home, walked upstairs, and promptly fell asleep. I only woke up because I desperately needed to eat something. DANGEROUS ASSOCIATIONS is a little tabletop RPG supplement I put together that looks at groups of my own design, and all suitable for campaigns. …I mention this again because you never know who might be reading it for the first time. These are fun little projects, and goodness knows I have enough generic TT RPG material to work with…

I’d feel bad about being so commercial about this, except that it’s my birthday, so I won’t.
I thought I’d try this, get some practice in on creating my own PDFs. Worked out fairly well, I thought. That material’s mostly creepy – and it takes a while to put it together, so I’m not doing it every day.
I do want to do FORBIDDEN BOOKS next, though.
Or if not my books, then for Heaven’s sake buy somebody’s. People are always hustling for sales, in the independent publishing world – but this is not a great time in that particular section of the economy. If there’s an indy author that you haven’t bought from in a while, and you like what they do, they would dearly love for you to catch up on their back catalog.
I know, I know, this is supposed to be a nagging post about buying my stuff. They can do their own advertising and nagging and discreet begging. …I just worry, that’s all.
So buy GHOSTS ON AN ALIEN WIND tonight, read it, and recommend it to all your friends! Be the hero to you peers that you were always meant to be. You can do it. I believe in you.
Failing that: there are fridge magnets now! Plus, stickers, prints, and even more stuff – but fridge magnets for certain. Pick a couple up, if you like. I’m curious as to how they sell.
