So, I got quoted by CBS.

Specifically, this post. And here’s what CBS wrote:

I would have linked – heck, I would have put it on RedState – except that they didn’t bother to link to [us]. Freaking amateurs.

PPS: …Oh, fine. Here’s the broken link.

Truth be told, I dunno whether @InvisibleObama is on my side, or on the Other Side’s.  Either way, my advice on this?  You got 47+ K followers out of this, dude. MONETIZE THAT.  My wife recommends blank white T-shirts, or maybe this picture, or something cheap and quick and easily-flogged on the market.  Capitalism, baby: capitalism.

#rsrh What a PATHETIC set of counter-protests at the RNC this year. #p2 [UPDATED]

Drawing on this, this, and this… I’ll be honest.  I was expecting a good deal more in the way of organized protests in Charlotte [Tampa: oops!] than what actually ended up being the case.  So were various other folks; but we were all more or less startled to discovered that, compared to ’08, the ’12 antics were lame, sparse, and not particularly active.

Despite what appears to be (at best) some dodgy involvement by government agencies to, ah, ‘help out’…

#rsrh This analysis of decaying Democratic percentages…

…by The New Republic (!) is all very well, but it lacks one key phrase: “voting enthusiasm.”  Which makes a certain amount of sense: dwelling on that topic might force one to come perilously close to turning a ‘the election is tied’ narrative into an ‘actually, Obama is more or less losing right now’ one.  And we can’t have that.

Here’s the real problem with the polling, honestly: we don’t know what the electorate is going to look like in November.  We just know that basing it on ’08’s numbers is a mistake… but nobody knows how much of a mistake it’ll end up being.  And while it’s easy for me to say “Well, they should just eyeball it and pick voting percentages that look right,” that’s because I’m not a professional pollster…

#rsrh SHOCK NEWS: David Koch is… gasp(!)… libertarian-leaning.

STOP THE PRESSES!!!!!!

Billionaire industrialist David Koch, who is helping steer millions of dollars to elect Mitt Romney and congressional Republicans, on Thursday told POLITICO he disagrees with the GOP’s stance on gay marriage and believes the U.S. needs to consider raising taxes to balance the budget.

And so the 2012 Republican convention ends.

Good closing speeches – especially Romney’s – but this is the important thing that you need to take away from it:

Eight billion, five hundred and thirty nine million, five hundred and twenty six thousand, three hundred and thirty three dollars and seven cents.  That’s how much debt the country racked up since the convention started.

This. Must. Stop.
