Turns out I’m seeing Avengers: Endgame tomorrow after all.

They added some more showings to the theater that I go to — Regal Cinemas is my default theater these days; good seating, a decent rewards system, the amenities at my local theater are excellent, and they have actual matinees — so I’m hitting it tomorrow morning. Which is good, because people are already starting to go purple-faced with the strain of not telling me any freaking spoilers.

Although some of them are also taking the no-spoilers thing way too seriously, too. I mean, gimme a break. You should be able to say whether or not you liked a flick.

“‘Salem’s Lot” coming to the big screen.

‘Salem’s Lot has gone to the small screen twice, as a miniseries: I remember the first one. Well, actually, I remember that it sucked. Although I may be remembering a different miniseries that sucked, since it was done in 1979 and I was busy being nine at the time. Anyway, they’re making an actual movie.

Stephen King’s vampire novel Salem’s Lot is heading to the big screen.

James Wan and Gary Dauberman, the respective producer and writer collaborators behind many of the biggest hits of theConjuring horror universe, are teaming to adapt the novel for New Line.

Dauberman will write the script and serve as executive producer. Wan will produce, along with Roy Lee and Mark Wolper.

So, hey, we can talk about Shazam! now. [SPOILERS]

It’s been two weeks since Shazam! came out, after all. If you haven’t seen this movie (go see this movie) yet, you either don’t care about spoilers or you can stop reading at this point, because there’s gonna be a spoiler or two. Fair warning, and all that.

SPOILERS BELOW.

The Swamp Thing series teaser trailer.

I was wondering why I hadn’t seen much on Swamp Thing before, until I realized that it’s for their DC streaming service.

It has… potential. Although it’s fairly obvious why DC decided to release it in-house, rather than shop it around. The combination of ‘slightly obscure’ and ‘straight up creeping horror’ is maybe a bit much for the networks to sustain, and they’ve got an existing platform to use. So that may work out for them.

Will I see Swamp Thing? Only if I subscribe to the DC Universe service. I’ve yet to be convinced that I should.

The Howard the Duck Honest Trailer.

Sometimes we don’t appreciate the horrors that Honest Trailers has to view. Multiple times. Just to make us laugh. When that happens, they give us their take on true horror. Like… Howard the Duck.

Note that I’m not putting up an Amazon link for that movie. I’m not a monster. If you haven’t seen it… treasure your ignorance. Treasure it, and cling to it, and never let it go.

The final Godzilla: King of the Monsters trailer.

I’m worried. This is maybe too in sync with my inner twelve year old. Is the actual Godzilla: King of the Monsters movie going to live up to the trailer?

Nah, it’ll be fine. There’s lots of kaiju taking various kinds of slaps at each other. That’s really all I need.

My opening weekend prediction for Avengers: Endgame.

Ready? Here you go: a metric sh*tload. Which is what everybody else is saying, only they’re trying to gussy it up more: “Fandango reported this month that it sold out thousands of Endgame showtimes on its website and that theater owners were scrambling to post new showtimes and screens to meet fan demand (some as early as 4 AM and 6:30 AM for its opening day Friday). In its first seven days of presales on Fandango, Endgame sold five times as many tickets as last year’s Avengers: Infinity War.”

I’ve seen everything from three hundred million domestic to nine hundred million worldwide, and I absolutely decline to come up with a harder number than ‘metric sh*tload.’ This movie is gonna be a monster. I didn’t have trouble getting a ticket only because I’m going next Monday at 11 AM.

PS: Oh, Lord: please don’t let it suck.
