Antiwar Left to crank-call State Department over Gaza.
I (and Legal Insurrection) AM NOT MAKING THIS UP. It all has to do with that flotilla that antiwar activists are putting together to help notorious terrorist group Hamas out in the Gaza strip via a little blockade-running; turns out the Greeks have impounded a number of the boats, so 0ur favorite Useful Idiots are calling for antiwar activists to call up the State Department Monday morning and sing “Let My People Go” at them*.

Normally, I’d now suggest that the Antiwar Left’s next tactic would be to flood the White House switchboard to ask if they had Prince Albert in a can – only, given that old rumor that the man was really the illegitimate son of a Jewish German baron, it’s entirely possible that nobody in the Antiwar Left would actually want to let him out. New anti-Jewish flotilla planning to run Gaza blockade.
Sorry, I’m not going to pretend that I don’t recognize the essentially anti-Semitic nature of the anti-Israel movement. And neither am I going to pretend that I take said movement’s agitprop seriously, either. The flotilla that got intercepted last year while trying to break the Gaza blockade was providing materials to build bunkers and fortifications for Hamas, which is of course a terrorist organization dedicated to killing every Jew in the world. That’s why the Israelis intercepted the flotilla. Some of the idiots on the flotilla resisted, and some of the aforementioned idiots got killed. And now the Hamas-lovers are going to try to break the Gaza blockade again… and the Israelis will intercept them again; only this time I would suggest that the IDF not bother with paintball guns first.
Yes. Paintball guns. Hearing that, you’d almost think that the IDF has the same regard for human life as civilized people. But that’s surely impossible, of course: and if you don’t believe me, just ask the antiwar movement. Moonbeam Brown protested at Code Pink shindig.
This report of a lie-in by pro-victory in Iraq protesters at a fundraiser held for Jerry Brown by notorious terrorist sympathizer Jodie Evans highlights a very, very serious set of questions involving not only Brown’s associations, but also his own motivations. The fact that Brown is attempting to get Code Pink’s money like this leads to various questions:
- Jodie Evans once reportedly told a Gold Star Mother that her son deserved to die in Iraq. Does Jerry Brown agree with her?
- Evans was a long-time supporter of genocidal mass murderer Saddam Hussein; as recently as the summer of 2008 she was nostalgic for a regime that routinely murdered, raped, and ethnically cleansed its internal enemies. Is Jerry Brown likewise nostalgic for the days of pogroms and acts of ecocide against the Marsh Arabs?
- Evans sat on the advisory board of International Occupation Watch, a group that conspired to convince US soldiers to desert. Jerry Brown: pro- or anti-desertion? Excuse me: “conscientious objection.”
- Jodie Evans’ Code Pink planned and brought off “protests” designed to attack critically wounded, recovering soldiers and their families. What method does Jerry Brown use to keep from throwing his drink in Jodie Evans’ face? Does he need one?
- In 2009, Evans helped provide material aid to Hamas in Gaza. Are some of Jerry Brown’s best friends Jews?
- As is exhaustively noted here, Jodie Evans and Jerry Brown have had a long, long shared political history. Where does Jerry Brown differ from her? Specific examples, please: we already know that he likes her money.

They CAN be taught!
Personally, I would have thought that any group stupid enough to send in a blockade runner named after a useful idiot who tried to play chicken with a bulldozer would be unteachable, but score one for the human survival reflex:
Israeli naval commandos seized an Irish-owned aid ship [MV Rachel Corrie] headed for Gaza Saturday morning, officials said.
The Israel military said it boarded the ship by sea with the compliance of the crew 35 kilometers (22 miles) off the Gaza coast.
“As far as I know there was no resistance or violence on the boat,” Israel Defense Forces spokeswoman Avital Leibovich told CNN.
The boat was carrying cement, which is on Israel’s prohibited-substances list: Hamas uses the stuff to build bunkers against the day where the Israelis get tired of Gazan terrorists shooting off rockets aimed at Jewish schoolchildren. Which the people who sent the cement know very, very well. Nonetheless: well done in learning this stimulus: response thing, peace activists! Your educations continue apace: why, if you keep it up and work at it, you might even someday reach the moral plateau currently occupied by cyanobacteria…

…OK, that’s kind of unfair. But only kind of: I don’t think that the White House’s/State Department’s muted-support response to Israel’s maintenance of its blockade is the best one. Israel acted more than appropriately; in fact, I’d say that they went too far in attempting to secure the boats at first using nothing more lethal than paintball guns. Which I doubt that they’re going to do the next time…

Israel intercepts Gaza blockade runners: 14 dead.
The Israelis are very, very serious about maintaining said blockade:
At least 14 people were killed and 50 were injured early Monday as the Israeli Navy took over the ships taking part in the aid sail to Gaza, Arab and Turkish media reported.
The IDF reported that four soldiers were injured during the takeover from live ammunition and knife stabbing. One of the troops was said to be in serious condition and three in light to moderate condition. The injured were evacuated to the Chaim Sheba Medical Center in Tel Hashomer by helicopter.
According to an IDF source, “The sail’s participants were not innocent and used violence against the soldiers. They were waiting for the forces’ arrival.”

(Via Israel Matzav) The boat being the “Dignity,” which was a blockade runner supporting Hamas that tried to bull its way through the Israeli’s interdiction of Gaza, and discovered that when wood meets steel, wood gives way. Anyway, it’s at the bottom of the Mediterranean now:
‘Free Gaza’ Leftist Ship Capsized
(IsraelNN.com) A boat used by the leftist “Free Gaza” organization to challenge Israel’s sovereignty over Gaza waters capsized on Monday. The ship, Dignity, was used “to protest the embargo” imposed by the IDF as a means of preventing Hamas terrorists from importing weaponry.
The group’s spokesperson, Ramzi Kysia, said that the 66-foot (20 meter) length boat capsized due to poor weather conditions. He added that he does not suspect that the boat was sabotaged in any way.
I don’t know if ‘sabotaged in any way’ is quite accurate, though. I would personally say that ‘owned and crewed by people who voluntarily have inserted their thumb in their anus’ qualifies.
