(H/T: Instapundit) Well, she does occasionally hit the target.

The past several days of Newark Mayor Cory Booker’s life have been painfully amusing to watch.

Painful because Booker, a rising Democratic star, is such a good guy. Amusing, because rarely are Americans treated to such premier seats in the political theater of truth and consequence.

That is, tell the truth and beware the consequences.

Barack Obama’s convenient Wall Street hypocrisy.

I just had it forwarded to me that Barack Obama is doing a 2 million dollar fundraiser today with Tony James, who is the head of the Blackstone financial services group. So… why should you care?  Well, two reasons:  first off, in February of this year Tony James criticized anti-Romney ads that attempted to demagogue Romney’s relationship with Bain Capital.  James felt that they were generally attacking the private equity industry itself, which they generally were… and which also makes one wonder what James plans to do when this becomes the entirety of Barack Obama’s message in September:

Then again, Tony James isn’t too worried: if Obama wins, he gets to enjoy the benefits of class collaboration that comes when one voluntarily brings one’s particular syndicate into full alignment/cooperation with the wishes of the Leaders of the corporative State.  And if Romney wins, well, Republicans have never been big on proscription lists*. #rsrh As of Monday, Jon Corzine is STILL bundling for Barack Obama?

I’m honestly flabbergasted: when the news came in on Saturday that the probably-won’t-be-indicted-for-anything-before-2013 Jon Corzine was still collecting cash for the President, I assumed that this no-doubt-grevious-oversight would be handled by, say, Monday morning.  After all, surely Corzine was radioactive after the suspicious collapse of his company MF Global?  Particularly since there’s now testimony contradicting Corzine’s about what happened to at least some of the 1.2 billion of customer money that went on walkabout during said collapse?  And yet… it’s Monday afternoon, and there’s no indication that the Obama campaign is worried about Saturday’s revelation; in fact, I’m not even entirely certain that they comprehend that this is a revelation at all.  After all: as somebody or other pointed out last weekend, they disclosed that they’re using Corzine to fundraise, right?  Surely that’s enough?

Spoiler warning: no, it’s not enough.  The entire point of transparency is to give campaigns negative feedback about doing stupid things like, say, using as a bundler a guy that a large swath of the country would like to see starring in a perp walk.  Particularly when said swath includes members of your own party

#rsrh Elizabeth Warren’s hypocritical tax… the Democrats call it “treason,” yes?

Or at least unpatriotic. Either way… somebody’s not practicing what she’s preaching:

Having criticized her Republican opponent for voting against a millionaires’ tax measure, U.S. Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren said here Friday that she opted not to pay a voluntary higher tax rate in Massachusetts.

Barack Obama: STILL not paying women as much as men?

I believe that the technical term for this would be ‘glass ceiling.’

Via @mkhammer comes this latest example of Do As I Say, Not As I Line-Item Budget from the Obama administration. Executive summary: the Obama administration is allegedly paying its female staffers roughly 18% less than its male ones.  I’m using the term ‘allegedly’ because the original report did not separate out staffers by gender, forcing “some assumptions to be made based on the employee names” (as the Free Beacon put it); I’m reporting it anyway because Barack Obama was – well, he wasn’t actually notorious for it in 2008, but not for lack of trying.  Anyway, he had a real problem with this sort of thing as a Senator, and it’s not exactly clear that being President has taught him to improve his ways.

More at Hot Air; I don’t know if Allahpundit remembers  that Ed Morrissey was on this story in 2008, too.  Probably not: both RedState and Hot Air have published a lot of material since then.  God knows that this administration seems determined to keep feeding us these opportunities to point out its flaws… Continue reading Barack Obama: STILL not paying women as much as men?

Barack Obama denounces himself over gas price attack ads.

Obama apparently doesn’t believe anything that *he* says, either.

Statement (Via Jim Geraghty’s Morning Jolt):

“Every time prices start to go up – especially in an election year – politicians dust off their three-point plans for $2 gasoline. They head down to the pump, make sure a few cameras are following them, and start acting like they can wave a magic wand and you’ll have cheap gas forever. Sound familiar?” Obama said.

Oddly enough, Mr. President… it does.

Occupy DC throws smoke bomb at White House… AND WAS NOT MADE TO RETREAT?

Just for calibration… back in April of 2009 I attended the DC Tax Day Tea Party; and one of the more interesting moments of that day was when a box was found to have been thrown over the White House fence, causing the US Secret Service to pretty much push everybody out of Lafayette Park.  Never knew who threw the box (obviously, nothing in it), could have been an overenthusiastic protester, could have been a Lefty troublemaker, but hey, rules are rules. The Revolution will be coordinated from pricy hotels.

Huh.  Doesn’t scan.

But never mind that, Comrade.  Surely it must be understood that oversight of the glorious proletarian class struggle against the capitalist bosses and their running-dog international banker lackeys requires a full effort from those chosen to speak on behalf of the workers, yes?  And since the Struggle has reached a critical moment, the stresses on, and expectations of, those individuals so chosen are at their highest point.  It is well understood that at such moments of crisis that resources must be allocated with an eye to the higher aims of the Revolution, and not necessarily to a sentimental devotion to faux-egalitarian thinking.  As has been said: “From each, according to his ability. To each, according to his needs!

It is thus obvious that the needs of the Struggle absolutely requires the use of $700/night hotel rooms as an alternative to commutes. Continue reading The Revolution will be coordinated from pricy hotels.

The Democratic hypocrisy of DeLauro & Greenberg.

Rosa DeLauro: Connecticut Democratic Congresswoman.  Married to Stanley Greenberg, Democratic strategist and former Clinton adviser.  Both credibly linked to the biotech megacorporation Monsanto – I mention this not because I care, but it never hurts to remind the netroots that they’re brazen hypocrites when it comes to their supposed opposition to GM foods – and former landlords to then-DCCC chair (and current Chicago mayor) Rahm Emanuel.  Although ‘landlord’ should really apply to people who charge rent to their tenants, I suppose – particularly when the tenant had the ability to steer fat contracts to the landlord’s polling firm.  Ach, well, we’ll save that investigation for 2013.  It’ll give Issa something to do after he finishes burning out the rot in the Justice Department.

But I digress. Continue reading The Democratic hypocrisy of DeLauro & Greenberg.

Jonah Goldberg is tired of the vicious hypocrisy of these people…

…for that matter, so am I.

‘These people’ being the media, and their contemptible willingness to accept a double standard when it comes to violent rhetoric.  After screaming for so long about every possible hint of a suggestion of a possibility of violent speech from the Right, it’s amazing what will be forgiven when it comes from the Left:

Tom Friedman — who knows a bit about Hezbollah — calls the tea partiers the “Hezbollah faction” of the GOP bent on taking the country on a “suicide mission.” All over the place, conservative Republicans are “hostage takers” and “terrorists,” “terrorists” and “traitors.” They want to “end life as we know it on this planet,” says Nancy Pelosi. They are betraying the founders, too. Chris Matthews all but signs up for the “Make an Ass of Yourself” contest at the State Fair.  Joe Nocera writes today that “the Tea Party Republicans can put aside their suicide vests.” Lord knows what Krugman and Olbermann have said.

Then last night. on the very day Gabby Giffords heroically returns to cast her first vote since that tragic attack six months ago, the Vice President of the United States calls the Republican Party a bunch of terrorists.

Regardless, No one cares.
